Frequently Asked Questions | Blue Cloud ABA Therapy

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy based on the science of learning and behavior. It's considered the gold standard treatment for autism spectrum disorder and is backed by decades of research.[1] ABA therapy uses positive reinforcement strategies to encourage desired behaviors, teach new skills, and reduce behaviors that may be harmful or interfere with learning.

We specialize in serving children ages 18 months and up. Early intervention during these critical developmental years leads to the best outcomes.[3] Research shows that starting ABA therapy early takes advantage of the brain's natural plasticity.[4]

Yes! We accept all major insurance plans. Most insurance companies are required to cover ABA therapy for autism under mental health parity laws. We handle all the insurance paperwork and authorization process for you, so you can focus on your child.

Session length varies based on your child's individualized treatment plan and insurance authorization. Typically, sessions range from 4-8 hours per day, several days per week. The recommended hours are determined by your child's BCBA based on their assessment and treatment goals.

The first session is typically an assessment conducted by a BCBA. They will observe your child, interact with them through play, and ask you questions about your child's strengths, challenges, and your goals for therapy. This information is used to create a personalized treatment plan.

Parent involvement is a crucial part of ABA therapy success.[5] We provide parent training to help you understand and implement strategies at home. You're welcome to observe sessions, and we'll regularly update you on progress and teach you techniques to support your child's development.[6]

In-home ABA therapy offers several advantages: children are more comfortable in their familiar environment, skills learned at home transfer naturally to daily life, families can be more involved in sessions, and it eliminates travel time and schedule disruptions for busy families.

Getting started is easy! Simply contact us by phone, email, or complete our online intake form. We'll schedule a free consultation to discuss your child's needs, answer your questions, and guide you through the enrollment process. We have no waitlist, so services can begin quickly.

No, we do not have a waitlist! We understand that early intervention is crucial, so we prioritize getting services started as quickly as possible. Once insurance authorization is obtained, we can typically begin therapy within days.
